Scenario: City of Roma case, mobility and environmental data

Demonstrative public dashboards have been created in Snap4City based on official open data of Rome. In the following dashboards and their functionalities are presented.

  • Roma Demo 1 – Maps and real time data

The dashboard presents a selector on the left allowing the user to select the services of interest to be shown on the map. By clicking an item in the selector list, the corresponding POI and data are shown on the map. From top to bottom:

  • Historical places position.
  • Museums position.
  • Mobility and stops: bus stops position on the map.
  • Air quality Sensors with real time and historical values. Source: ARPALazio. Click on a pin to see the details of the air quality sensor selected shown in a pop-up. By selecting the data of interest, real time data and trends are also represented below the map.
  • O3 heatmap, with real time data. On the top right of the map, a box with commands is available to navigate in the historical data and to start an animated heatmap based on the last 24hours .
  • NO2 heatmap, with real time data. On the top right of the map, a box with commands is available to navigate in the historical data and to start an animated heatmap based on the last 24hours .
  • NO2 Bubbles. Bubble charts representation on maps for NO2 Sensor Data. Bubbles are typically of the same color of the selector item and the size is dynamically adapted to the value of the set of sensor values of the variable identified/selected.
  • National and Regional Data about covid-19, with real time and historical data that can be represented below the map by selecting the pin of interest.

 

On the top left of the map, a Maps button is available, allowing to change the graphic representation of the map in the background. Actually the following maps area available for Rome: Default Map, Light Map, Dark Map, Light Map 2, Dark Map 2, Light Buildings Map, Satellite Map, but also other maps can be added, for example a 3D map.

Below the selector, two buttons are available to open other dashboards related to Rome: Transport and Culture dashboard and Air quality dashboard.

This dashboard contains the same data and structure of the previous one but the selector on the left presents the list of item as icons.

This dashboard has been created to be embedded in external third party web pages so that also the header has been hidden.

  • Roma Demo2 – Transport and Culture

The selector on the left allows to show:

  • Veicoli TPL Real Time: Position of the busses in real time updated every minute.
  • TPL tool: a tool proving information about mobility in Rome with more than 10.000 bus stops, timetables, active bus lines. It is possible to navigate the map to see the active lines in the moment around a point.
  • TPL vista SM: Position of bus stops around a point and representation of some public transport line paths.
  • TPL Linee: A view of some public transport lines around a point in the map.
  • Scopri: click to see all services around your position.
  • Cultura: click to see all cultural places close to your position.
  • Ambiente: Position of environmental sensors. By clicking a pin on the map, it is possible to see real time values.

This dashboard contains the same data and structure of the previous one but the selector on the left presents the list of items as icons.

This dashboard is divided in 5 parts and is based on real time and historical data on air quality from ARPALazio.

  • On the top left Map (1) with a selector to show the position of air quality sensors on the map and to view of the data by clicking the pin of interest. O3 and NO2 heatmaps with real time data. When heatmap visualization is active, on the top right of the map, a box with commands is available to navigate in the historical data and to start an animated heatmap based on the last 24hours.
  • Stacked view of the time trend of O3 from 13 air quality stations in Rome (2).
  • View of the time trend of NO2 from 22 air quality stations (3).
  • Vertical bars representation of real time data about air pollution from 22 air quality stations in Rome (4).
  • Tabular view (5) of different pollutant (O3, NO2, CO, SO2) calibrated according to the official color legend of the European Commission.

Below the selector, two buttons are available to open other dashboards related to Rome: previous Demo 1 dashboard (Home) and the Transport dashboard.
