TC8.4 - Search on Documentation and Help pages on www.snap4city.org , get in contact, get assistance, read FAQ, make a comment.

Goal

I can:

  • Search into the portal to find documentation and examples on how to work with snap4city tools.
  • Read and post a FAQ
  • Drop a comment
  • Get in contact with help desk personnel
  • Solve my technical and orientation problems

Prerequisites

A PC with a browser. Access to the dashboard.

The following functionalities are available only for specific Snap4city users with specific privileges.

Expected successful result

Access to the documentation and help pages.

All the test cases is available in phase 3 into the portal and well indexed.

Steps

 

 

Snap4City portal is based on Drupal 7 CMS and has been designed as a point for accessing documentation and help pages for the users and stakeholders.

To access to documentation the registered user has to:

  • Enter in Snap4City Portal and log in
  • Scroll down in the main left column menu and click on
    • Help and contacts to see contact details and to send a direct request via an online form
    • Documentation and Articles to open submenus with links to specific webpages explaining the different functionalities and tools of snap4city.

 

  • Help and Contacts contains three submenus:
    • Help Desk, a page containing contact information about snap4city team

    • Contact Us, a page to send a request via a preformed online form

The menu item Documentation and Articles provide access to a number of submenu, as shown in the following image.

  • Clicking a submenu in the list, a new page of the snap4city portal is shown.
  • Each page contains the direct link to the tool, a description of the tool(s), images and link to specific user manual and additional documentation and articles.
  • The Snap4City portal has a full text search functionality that simplify the search of terms. The search field is on the top right of each page.

 

  • Content and articles recently modified are shown on a list in the right column, below the search field. In this manner users can have a look to the new or updated content published on the portal.
